20-year-old pitcher Michael Kopech was traded to the Chicago White Sox from the Red Sox back on December 6th. He has the potential to be the crown jewel of their rotation some day. That’s because dude can throw some serious cheddar.
As in Aroldis Chapman-type cheese.
According to Baseball Prospectus, “There aren’t much better places to start as a pitching prospect than with a fastball that can touch triple digits. Kopech sits there. He’d be the hardest throwing starter in the majors if he makes it to the majors a starter.”
Need an example? Check out the video below, where Kopech throwing off of flat ground in the middle of January still hits 110 MPH, which is over 4 MPH faster than anyone in MLB threw in 2016.
That, my friends, is insane.
You know what else is insane? Kopech is dating 19-year-old Brielle Biermann. Now if that name sounds somewhat familiar it’s because she is the daughter of Kim Zolciak-Biermann of Real Housewives of Atlanta fame and the step-daughter of Kroy Biermann, former Atlanta Falcons linebacker.
In other words, we might have a future bro king in the making here.
