Former NBC sideline reporter Michele Tafoya dropped a bombshell on the NFL world with her thoughts on a league superstar. She believes Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce will hang up the cleats after this season.

In an interview with CBS Sports Radio host Marc Ryan, she gave her reasoning behind the retirement speculation.

“I think Travis Kelce is retiring after this season like his brother,” Tafoya said. “I think there’s just a ton of motivation there for them to do this… I think they’re highly motivated.

“I can’t reveal my source, but I can just say he’s looking at future plans. Now, with his brother retiring… I could totally see those two pulling a Peyton and Eli Manning sort of gig maybe on Peacock to be the companion piece to Sunday Night Football.

“You’ve got the Peyton and Eli cast on ESPN2 for Monday Night Football. Why doesn’t Peacock do that with the Kelce brothers?”

It’s an interesting theory, but one that has legs given the duo’s already booming media presence.

Travis and Jason Kelce host a podcast called New Heights, which boasts 1.9M followers on Instagram.

Michele Tafoya has a long professional history in the NFL, currently working as a freelance reporter while hosting a podcast called Sideline Sanity.

Prior, she roamed the sidelines for NBC’s Sunday Night Football broadcast with her last gig being Super Bowl LVI.

She’s also worked for CBS, ABC, and ESPN.

Travis Kelce, meanwhile, has been the most popular player on and off the field this year given his courtship of pop megastar Taylor Swift. Kansas City is in the midst of a potential Super Bowl run, but it seems the future is uncertain come season’s end.

Will Kelce be playing next year?
