Saturday’s win over Maryland marked the 1,000th win in University of Michigan football history. The Wolverines defeated the Terrapins by seven in College Park to stay undefeated at 10-0.

A large contingency of Michigan fans made the trip south for the game and took over a significant portion of SECU Stadium. However, they got in trouble after the clock hit zero.

While the team celebrated the monumental victory on the field, its fanbase decided to storm the field and join the party. It was a road game, so they stormed a field that was not theirs.

Maryland’s PA announcer tried to keep it from happening. Even though he yelled at both fanbases to stay in the stands, it was pretty obvious as to who he was addressing directly.

The PA announcer’s efforts did not work. Michigan is not very good at following the rules, as we now know, and its traveling party continued to hop the wall and onto the field despite strict instructions not to do so.

As the Wolverines enjoy the win on Saturday, they will have to quickly shift their focus to next weekend. Ohio State stands in the way of a Big Ten championship and College Football Playoff.

1,000 wins is great. 11-0 is great. Winning another game without head coach Jim Harbaugh is great.

All of that is deserving of celebration. Storming the field on the road might be a little bit over the top, but life is too short not to send it.

If you made the trip from Ann Arbor, why not?! Every other fanbase in the country already looks down upon your program. There is nothing to lose.

With that being said, having the Maryland PA announcer yell at Michigan fans to refrain from storming the field on the road is pretty hilarious. Only the Wolverines!
