Legendary WWE wrestler Mick Foley aka ‘Mankind’ aka ‘Cactus Jack’ survived a horrible car accident on a Florida highway this week. Foley shared an encouraging update following the accident, saying he is “beyond grateful that I did not end up far worse off.”
Immediately after the car accident, Mick Foley shared a photo of himself on Instagram standing in front of a totaled vehicle with the front end of the car unrecognizable due to so much damage and the windshield caved in and shattered. Foley shared the caption “I have no idea how I am still walking around after this accident. I’m in the hospital now, and I’m sore from my knees to my neck, including a minor concussion.”
In the background of that image, a Flagler County police cruiser can be seen. Flagler County is on Florida’s East Coast and includes Flagler Beach and Palm Coast, just south of St. Augustine. As far as I know, Mick Foley doesn’t live in Florida these days but that appears to be where the car accident occurred.
Following the message that he was at the hospital seeking treatment for a minor concussion and more, Mick Foley uploaded another message to his fans assuring them that he was okay. That caption reads “ACCIDENT UPDATE: Here’s a quick video update about my auto accident yesterday — I am thankful to everyone who has reached out — and beyond grateful that I did not end up far worse off…”
In the video following his car accident, Cactus Jack says “hey everybody, it’s Mick Foley. I just wanted to take a second to thank all of you for your well wishes, your positive energy, your prayers… I had so many people in wrestling reach out to me… I was just sending some texts with The Undertaker a few minutes ago, Triple H reached out. A pleasure really to have some of the biggest stars in wrestling and Al Snow reach out to me! That never gets old.”
Foley continued, saying “I’m gonna be honest though, I’m banged up. I feel like a truck has run over me. I’m propped up against about seven pillows. But, looking at that accident and looking at that car, I don’t think anyone would predict that the guy in that car would come out of it with soft tissue damage… It’s pretty, I don’t want to say miraculous, but I’m feeling really fortunate right now.”
Foley’s daughter Noelle Foley (and Topanga!) responded to her father’s post on IG, writing:

It’s evident that wrestling world is with Mick Foley after his car accident. There has been an outpouring of messages of love and support for the iconic wrestler who is just shy of 60-years-old these days. He’s right though, looking at that car after the accident I never would have guessed that Mick Foley would emerge with only soft tissue damage.
TMZ Sports was first to report on Foley’s accident.
