Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel did not hold back when asked by a reporter about quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s success in the team’s offense.

McDaniel was asked about outside people saying that a lot of other quarterbacks could have the same level of success in his scheme.

McDaniel quickly defended his quarterback, even suggesting he might tip over the podium. He bluntly stated, “I’m about to push this podium over… my answer to that would be who the F cares, because it is a team, we’re working together, and I know one thing. I’ve coached a long time, I haven’t seen people do what our guys do… To their credit, to their ability, and their commitment to their craft.”

Clearly, McDaniel is not concerned with proving anything to outsiders. His primary focus is on helping the Dolphins reach their full potential as a team.

The Dolphins are 5-1 and Tagovailoa currently leads the NFL several key statistical categories, including passer rating, passing touchdowns, passing yards, touchdown-to-attempt ratio, yards per attempt, and yards per completion.

While McDaniel deserves recognition for the team’s success, it’s pretty clear that if any other quarterback put up those numbers, the national media would’ve brought them up for MVP consideration, and Tua should be no different.
