NFL bettors aren’t happy with Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin after he called a couple of late timeouts in a blowout loss. The decision would have major gambling implications.

With his team down 27-13 in the final moments of action, Tomlin opted to stop the clock as Indianapolis attempted to kneel out the last seconds.

Quarterback Gardner Minshew lined up in victory formation on three consecutive plays, which should’ve been enough to drain the final 1:41 and effectively end the game.

For some reason, Tomlin used each of his remaining timeouts.

With no chance of overcoming the two-score deficit, the move was head-scratching to say the least. Unable to run those final ticks from the scoreboard, Indy opted to widen its lead.

Matt Gay would connect on a field goal in the final minute of play to give Indianapolis a 30-13 advantage.

That late kick was a backbreaker for those on the UNDER. The total closed at 41.5 points, and a low-scoring second half appeared to help the bet cash in.

Again, that 27-13 score had the total at 40 points. The made field goal, however, pushed it to 43 and gamblers were irate.

For selfish reasons, I cannot believe Tomlin called the timeout and allowed them to kick the field goal.”

Mike Tomlin calling timeouts is clownish on a game that’s already out of reach.”

I will forever dislike Tomlin for calling that timeout and forcing the over to hit.”

Tough break for sports bettors.
