We’re beginning to learn more about how Mike Vrabel is coping with the fallout amid his scandal with Dianna Russini.

Last week, Vrabel announced that he was going to seek counseling and would skip day 3 of the NFL draft after the NY Post released photos of him kissing Russini at a bar.

“I’ve had some difficult conversations with people I care about about — with my family, the organization, the coaches, the players. Those have been positive and productive. In order to be successful on and off the field, you have to make good decisions. That includes me. That starts with me.”

‘What I can promise you is that my family, this organization, the team, the staff, the coaches, everybody, our fans most importantly, will get the best version of me going forward.’

Vrabel has since returned to work, but according to the Daily Mail, he “feels terrible” for the backlash Russini has been receiving due to the alleged affair.

The Daily Mail goes on to report that Vrabel feels responsible for Russini’s career being ruined due to their affair.

According to our source, the New England coach also feels remorse over Russini’s situation after she quit her job at The Athletic.

‘Mike feels terrible on many levels, especially since Dianna’s career is pretty much over, and that blood is on his hands,’ the source said. ‘He feels terrible that he is responsible and that she may never be able to work again.’

Apparently, Vrabel’s guilt over the Russini situation is one of the reasons why he’s seeking therapy.

‘There happens to be so many emotions going through him right now that for whatever counseling he is taking part in will be a continued situation for the foreseeable future. All of this is not going to be fixed overnight. He has to get on the right page with himself and everyone involved, and that is easier said than done, and we are currently at the bottom of that mountain.”

As for Russini, she’s currently lying low and waiting for everything to blow over before returning to the public eye.
