Jets passer Mike White took a vicious hit from a Buffalo Bills defender on Sunday, and it has NFL fans posting reactions on social media.

In New York’s 20-12 loss, White was seen taking a brutal rib shot from linebacker Matt Milano. It could very well be the hardest hit we’ve seen in the NFL season.

The quarterback dropped back to pass in the second quarter of action. Just as he released the ball, Milano flew in like a freight train, launching into White’s unguarded midsection. The hit nearly separated the signal caller’s torso from the lower half of his body.

White remained down for some time, and eventually had to leave the game. He would somehow return two plays later but was unable to lead his team back to victory. After the game, he had to be taken to the hospital.

The hit had many on social media talking, and they quickly posted their reactions online.

One person said, “Mike White just got sawed in half… DAMN Hope he’s alright.” Another fan wrote, “If you look closely, you can see Mike White‘s soul leaving his body.”

White’s gutsy performance certainly won over the confidence of his teammates. After the game, running back Michael Carter called him a “F—in’ soldier” while talking with the media. Wideout Garrett Wilson said the same.

“He’s got a lot of heart. He’s gonna lay it on the line for his boys. I would do the same for him.”

With the loss, the Jets fell to 7-6 on the season. Despite the setback, Mike White continues to win over his locker room after what’s been an up and down season for New York in the quarterback room.
