The sixth-ranked South Carolina women’s basketball team took the floor for its season opener on Monday against No. 11 Notre Dame. The game was played in Paris with the Gamecocks kicking off the 2023 campaign with a convincing win.

During that victory, freshman guard MiLaysia Fulwiley impressed viewers with her incredible ball skills. One particular play is now going viral on social media.

In the second quarter of action, Fulwiley received the inbound pass and proceeded to dribble the length of the court. Maneuvering her way through the Irish defense, she used an unreal behind the back move to get to the rim.

The freshman then finished things off with a lay-in, capping the highlight reel play with a bucket.

Viewers took immediate notice of the play, including a couple of pros.

Magic Johnson was the first to respond, saying, “I’m watching the women’s basketball game between South Carolina and Notre Dame right now and I just saw the best move in all of basketball including the pros like LeBron, Steph, KD, Victor, and Jokic. Everyone must see the coast-to-coast, behind-the-back move by freshman guard MiLaysia Fulwiley from South Carolina. WOW!!”

For those who might not know, Johnson’s sister, Evelyn, played for the Gamecocks in the 1980s.

Kevin Durant was also wowed, writing, “Fulwiley moving DIFFERENT out here, turn on ESPN!”

Others agreed.

Fulwiley scored 17 points on 8-of-14 shooting. She also dished out six assists while recording a team-high six steals. The Gamecocks used that performance to beat Notre Dame, 100-71.
