The hairdos players rock at the Minnesota High School State Hockey Tournament have historically been the biggest source of entertainment aside from the actual games that comprise it. However, the student managers roaming the benches for the teams participating in 2025 have gone above and beyond with the outfits that have thrust them into the spotlight.

High school hockey is a very big deal in the state of Minnesota, and each year, the best teams descend upon the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul to take part in a tournament that routinely draws more than 100,000 spectators who attend the games that are played to determine a champion at the Class 1A and Class 2A levels.

Most people outside of The Land of 10,000 Lakes were probably introduced to the Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament courtesy of John King, the man who has spent more than 15 years honoring the best lettuce, flow, and other stellar locks sported by the players hoping to earn a spot on the “All Hockey Hair Team”—an honor that rivals winning a championship.

We’ll have to wait at least a few days for the 2025 edition to drop, but CJ Fogler has been documenting videos of potential honorees since the tournament officially kicked off on Wednesday.

However, he’s also focused on another group of guys who’ve managed to make a name for themselves this year: the student managers who’ve put plenty of effort into the eye-catching outfits that have helped them draw a ton of the attention usually reserved for the guys on the ice.

As far as I’m concerned, the student managers from Northern Lakes have stolen the show by going full Dumb and Dumber. With that said, I have to give credit where credit is due to the ones from Luverne who not only made the bold decision to rock a turtleneck and a cowboy hat with a suit but more than managed to pull the look off.

There’s really nothing better than guys being dudes.
