There are plenty of perks that come with being a professional athlete, but there is not much flexibility when it comes to your personal life during the season. That means major life events like weddings are reserved for when it’s over, and four members of the Twins will be going that route later this year…on the exact same day.
Anyone who’s made it past their 20s is likely all too aware summer is the most popular time of the year to get married, and if you opted to go that route while tying the knot, you’re also probably all too aware venues are more than happy to charge a premium for people trying to take advantage of the warmer weather.
People who make a living playing in the NFL, NBA, and NHL typically don’t have to worry about those prices, and that season is optimal for those athletes when you consider they are able to take advantage of the freedom they have during the offseason.
However, that is not the case with Major League Baseball players, who are essentially resigned to getting married in the fall or winter based on their schedule.
That’s the case with four guys who are currently playing for the Twins, who apparently declined to attempt to coordinate when it came to picking the date for their upcoming nuptials.
Four Minnesota Twins players are getting married on the same day in November
There’s a fairly widespread stereotype concerning men and their impressive ability to avoid “serious” topics when they’re hanging out before coming back to wives and girlfriends who frequently are left exasperated after failing to gain any intel after asking for updates on the lives of their buddies after an evening or weekend where those topics never really came up.
I can only imagine the fiancées of four dudes who currently play for the Twins experienced that kind of frustration during the wedding planning process involving their future spouses: shortstop Brooks Lee, second baseman Luke Keaschall, utility player Ryan Kreidler, and pitcher Cole Sands.
All four of those men have a fairly limited window when it comes to picking a wedding day before colder weather starts to set in, as it would be a bad look to plan one before October 31st (the date on which Game 7 of the World Series is set to fall this year).
It subsequently makes sense they’d decided on a date in November, but as the MLB noted in a tweet that was sent out earlier this week, every member of that quartet decided to send a Save the Date for November 14th.

It may be a bit of a stretch to suggest this has the potential to stir up any major drama in the clubhouse, but it is also hard to imagine things aren’t going to get a little bit awkward when their teammates are forced to pick which ceremony they want to attend.
