Minor League Team To Wear ‘Mister Rogers’ Uniforms, Sports Are Over

Quick. Think of the least intimidating thing you’ve ever seen in sports because I’m about to top it.

On July 5, the Altoona Curve, an affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, will wear Mister Rogers inspired jerseys. If you’re thinking, “I bet they’re really ugly,” you’re 100 percent correct.

Haha. What? Who are the ad wizards who came up with this one?

Here’s more information from the team’s official site:

It’s going to be a beautiful day in the neighborhood and a beautiful day for a neighbor at 6 p.m. on July 5 when the Curve and WPSU Penn State play host to “A Night in the Neighborhood.” Throughout the evening, families can celebrate both the current hit PBS KIDS television show Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood produced by The Fred Rogers Company, as well as the classic children’s series Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. Would you be ours? Could you be ours? Won’t you be our neighbor?

In conjunction with both WPSU and The Fred Rogers Company, the Curve will bring Daniel Tiger himself to Curve, Pa. for the game while the team on the field will wear special jerseys in the likeness of one of Mister Rogers’ famous cardigan sweaters that he put on in every show. Proceeds from the jersey auction that night will be donated to WPSU in support of the station’s community engagement efforts.

Alright. So we’re all going. Everyone’s going to be there. Good King Friday. Mr. McFeely. The trolley is a maybe.

The whole thing gives me Such A Good Feeling.
