Mississippi State baseball commit Sullivan Reed cranked out 23 bombs at the 2026 MLB All-Star High School Home Run Derby, the most in the preliminary rounds.

Sullivan Reed of Lamar School High School in Mississippi claimed first place with 15 homers in the first round and eight in the second.

“Mississippi State has one corner infielder who could go in the first round this year in Ace Reese (MLB’s No. 18 Draft prospect), and they could have another one coming in Reed, if he ever makes it to Starkville,” MLB.com wrote. “The Bulldogs commit shows good bat speed from the right side and has athleticism stemming from his work as a quarterback in the fall. He hit 13 homers in the King of Swing Home Run Derby in Omaha last month.”

Sullivan, who plays first base and third base and pitches, will now face off against Brady Cunningham of Brother Rice High School in Illinois after Cunningham won a tiebreaker to advance to the finals.

“The Chicagoland native is no stranger to homering in Major League stadiums, having just gone deep last week in the Perfect Game National Showcase at loanDepot park in Miami,” MLB.com reported. “Listed at 6-foot-3, Cunningham certainly has plenty of size to pack a punch at the plate, and he’s already getting into that frame with good strength to punish balls to left field. The Texas A&M commit, who also touches the low 90s on the mound, has at least plus raw power that could push him into first-round discussions this time next year.”

The best of the rest at the MLB All-Star High School Home Run Derby

Cunningham, a third baseman and pitcher, mashed 24 home runs total, but it took him more than two rounds: 12 in the first round, eight in the second and four more in the tiebreaker against Jimmy Amplo of The Shipley School in Pennsylvania.

University of Florida commit, Tavis Honeycutt of Newberry High School in Florida, tied Amplo with 13 home runs in the first round.

Other participants in the 2026 MLB All-Star High School Home Run Derby included Graham Keen of Mt. Lebanon High School in Pennsylvania (Vanderbilt commit), Grant Westphal of Blue Valley High School in Kansas (Texas), Kinon Bastian of The First Academy in Florida (Florida), and Lubin Rincon of The Bennett School in Texas (Texas).

Reed and Cunningham will next meet in the final round during Major League Baseball’s T-Mobile Home Run Derby on Monday to determine this year’s winner.
