Mitch Trubisky Got Naked In The Rain For His First Touchdown With Buffalo, Kind Of

Mitch Trubisky Touchdown Buffalo Bils

NFL on CBS

For the first time as a member of the Bills, quarterback Mitchell Trubisky found pay dirt. To do so, he had to get naked in the rain.

Kind of.

Buffalo hosted a struggling Houston team on Sunday and things got ugly quick. Not only was rookie quarterback Davis Mills making his second-career start for the Texans, but it came in a torrential downpour.

The combination did not serve well for the visitors and they fell behind 19-0 at the end of the third quarter. Things did not get any better and the blowout continued for the Bills, adding two more touchdowns before the 10-minute mark in the fourth quarter.

With a 33-0 lead, head coach Sean McDermott decided that he had seen enough from his franchise quarterback. Josh Allen came out of the game and Trubisky entered as Buffalo took over with 8:03 remaining in the game.

Trubisky had seen time in both Week 1 and Week 2, but he had not found the end zone. That changed on Sunday on the tail-end of a seven-play, 53-yard drive.

The first-ever Nickelodeon’s Valuable Player faked the play-action and took a large, looping roundabout route to the corner and scored on the naked bootleg.

Trubisky finished the 40-0 win 1-for-1 for eight yards with 4 rushing attempts for 10 yards and a touchdown. Two of his “runs” came on the final kneel downs for two losses of one, so really it was two attempts for 12 yards and a touchdown— his first with Buffalo.

Look out, Josh Allen. Don’t let Mitch get hot!
