The MLB recently implemented a rule giving umpires a mic so they can better listen in on the conversations being had on the field.

Well, things got a little weird on Sunday between the Miami Marlins and Los Angeles Angles, as one ump got caught calling out a challenge on a hot mic.

The Marlins challenged a call at the home plate, forcing the game to stop so the umps could take a look at it.

However, one of the MLB umpires called out the Marlins’ manager in a hilarious hot mic moment. Listen in and hear it for yourself.

Whoops! The broadcast definitely picked that one up. Clearly the ump didn’t like that Miami was challenging the call.

However, what’s ironic, is that the the Marlins won the challenge. So in the end, the umpire was in the wrong the entire time.

As you can imagine, baseball fans had plenty to say about this clip.

Not really a great look for the MLB or the umpires.

Robot umps wouldn’t be upset about it. Just saying.

It can be ridiculous sometimes. But I wouldn’t quite call this an ump show.

Outside of Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout, it’s hard to not agree with this guy.

But hey, in the end, the Marlins won the challenge and all is good in the world.

Rumors are the MLB is still considering the possibility of bringing in robot umpires into the league. If that’s the case, we’ll probably have less hot mic moments like these.
