Former Broncos RB Montee Ball Arrested For Battery As His Former Teammates Prepare For Super Bowl 50

Former second-round pick Montee Ball was arrested early this morning in Madison, Wisc. and charged with battery, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.

Ball, who played collegiately at the University of Wisconsin and holds numerous rushing records, allegedly pushed his girlfriend into a table at a Downtown hotel, leading to police being called around 3:40 a.m.

Here’s what a source was quotes telling the Wisconsin State Journal report:

“The woman told police she had a dispute with her boyfriend,” said police spokesman Joel DeSpain. “She said he put his hands on her, picked her up and threw her.”

She told police she hit a table, resulting in a cut to her leg, which needed stitches.

Ball was found outside the hotel. “He was very cooperative,” DeSpain said.

It has been a rough couple of months for Ball, who, after once finishing fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting in college, struggled with the Denver Broncos for a couple seasons, leading the team to part ways with him earlier this NFL season.

Of course, Ball is watching his former mates prepare to play in Super Bowl 50.

After signing on with the Patriots’ practice squad, Ball is currently out of the league, with this incident surely hurting his chances of getting an opportunity with another team. But time will tell as more details surface.
