Everyone’s Go-To Beer Just Signed Golfer Smylie Kaufman To An Endorsement Deal, So Next Round’s On Him

I may live in the Pacific Northwest, where beer snobbery is, typically, at an all-time high, but that doesn’t mean I don’t go for my old faithful brew anytime I decide to throw more than a few back. Even at 31 years old, I’m still a Natty Light drinker through and through, so I guess it’s the little piece of college in me still trying to hang on.

You know who else supports Natty? PGA golfer Smylie Kaufman, as he just inked a sick endorsement deal with the beer brand, making me really jealous that I was never quite able to straighten out my drive or putt under pressure as well as he can. Honestly, who knew this was even a possibility?

The 24-year-old Kaufman, who played collegiately at LSU and enjoyed partaking in some bro festivities with a few of his fellow golfers this spring, couldn’t be the better spokesperson for the brand—which is exactly why Natty wanted him.

Per ESPN:

“Smylie perfectly matches our consumer base,” said Natural Light senior brand manager Mark Zarthar. “People who drink us work hard, but like to have a good time with their buddies.”

The announcement of the Kaufman deal comes on the heels of Natural Light rebranding, with the new design on the can set to show up in stores near you sometime this month—with a few already getting the new packaging.

Man, big things going on over at the Natty headquarters, so when and where’s the kegger to celebrate all the good news, guys?
