It’s no secret that the New York Knicks have one of the most passionate fan bases not only in the NBA, but across all of sports.

New Yorkers from all backgrounds have been dying to see the Knicks finally break through and win their first championship since 1973, one of the longest active droughts in the NBA.

So when New York swept the Cleveland Cavaliers to reach the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999, ironically, against the same San Antonio Spurs team that beat them last time around, you just knew that Knicks fans would do anything and everything to get their hands on tickets.

Some New York fans even went so far as to travel to San Antonio for Games 1 and 2. However, those who didn’t will have to pay an exorbitant amount if they’re hoping to get into Madison Square Garden for Game 3 on Monday night.

Get-In Price For Game 3 Of Knicks-Spurs NBA Finals Soars Over $8,000

According to Eric Fisher of Front Office Sports, the current get-in price for Game 3 at MSG is over $8,000, and to make matters worse, that number seems to be on the rise, especially after New York’s victory on the road in Game 1.

“If the Knicks win and go up 2–0 [in the series], you’ll see the market go crazy, especially for Game 4,” Alex Warner, CEO and cofounder of season-ticket management company Winventory, told Front Office Sports. “In that case, you’ll see a lot of folks looking to get in for that one. It would either be a clinch possibility, or at worst, the Knicks go into that one up [two games to one] with an opportunity to really put the Spurs on the ropes, and that will certainly drive the market.”

How serious is the demand to watch the Knicks these days?

Tickets for a watch party at Madison Square Garden for Game 2 not only sold out, but they’re now being resold for over $100 despite a face value of just $10. Safe to say, the Knicks are the biggest thing going in New York by a wide margin.
