We’ve all done it before. Take a look at the NBA slate, immediately cook up a longshot parlay that includes every game. Typically, they don’t hit, but on Wednesday, one lucky gambler cashed in in the most incredible of ways.

A ticket consisting of a 12-leg parlay helped one basketball bettor turn 50 cents into over $1,000. It didn’t come without a little drama, though.

The wager needed wins from the 76ers, Cavs, Grizzlies, Knicks, Pelicans, Magic, Bucks, Timberwolves, Bulls, Pistons, Hawks, and Lakers. That’s already more than I feel like keeping up with.

Each of those teams would end up victorious in their respective matchups, with the final leg of the parlay seeing Detroit win in walk off fashion.

The Lakers somehow beat the Heat without the help of LeBron James or Anthony Davis. The Cavaliers slipped by the Suns in a two-point game. The Sixers survived versus the Pacers in overtime. The same was true for the Bucks in their victory over the Raptors.

It was a slate filled with nailbiters as seven of the 12 contests were decided by three points or less, including that pair of OT games. And none was more thrilling than a meeting between the Pistons and Warriors.

After trailing for most of the fourth quarter, Golden State tied it up in dramatic fashion with Klay Thompson drilling a three-pointer with just over two seconds remaining. Detroit’s Saddiq Bey wouldn’t be outdone, though.

Bey heaved up a last second jumper that swished through the bottom of the net to secure a win, ending a Warriors home winning streak. More importantly, it completed the Hail Mary parlay, which had insane +189235 odds of hitting. Those unlikely chances resulted in a huge return on investment for the NBA bettor as they turned a $0.53 bet into a $1,003 bag.

Moral of the story? Keep placing those longshot parlays. They might just hit.
