The #4 ranked Nebraska Volleyball team moved to a perfect 9-0 on the season with a huge win over #21 ranked Kentucky (2-4) and it included an epic rally won by the Cornhuskers.

The video shared by the Nebraska Women’s Volleyball Team didn’t have a ‘touch counter’ like volleyball fans are accustomed to seeing in the Olympics, but based on my rudimentary counting this rally saw 68 touches before the Cornhuskers put the ball away!

Fans were going wild in the stands after the Cornhuskers dug deep and pulled out the point:

I haven’t cared this much about volleyball since renting Super Spike Beach Volleyball for the Nintendo NES from Video Library back before I could even tie my shoes and my older brother would dominate me at the game but it was still insanely fun.

This was from Sunday’s match in Lincoln. Nebraska went on to win the match 3 sets to Kentucky’s 1 (24-14, 25-22, 23-25, and 25-21). And the Cornhuskers have been on fire since bringing in a world record-setting 92K+ fans against Omaha.

The win over Kentucky marked Nebraska’s second win in a row over a ranked opponent and three of their last 4 matches were against ranked opponents with wins over Creighton (#14), Long Beach State, Stanford (#5), and Kentucky (#21). Things don’t get any easier for the Cornhuskers who will now face #19 Ohio State, #9 Minnesota, and #17 Purdue in their next three matches.

It is hard to imagine a better rally in College Volleyball this year than that. But Stanford did have an electric match against Louisville and came back down 0-2 to win 3-2 in five sets.
