The New Orleans Saints weren’t expected to be searching for a head coach this offseason. Sean Payton was the best coach the organization had ever had and the team barely missed the playoffs in spite of injuries to their quarterbacks and top receiver.

However, everything didn’t quite go according to planned Payton ended up leaving the NFL and now the Saints are stuck trying to find a new head coach. So far, the Saints have reportedly interviewed Doug Pederson, Brian Flores, and Aaron Green for their head coaching vacancy.

Now they’ve added a high profile offensive coordinator to their list of interviews.

Eric Bieniemy seems to be in the conversation every season when teams start looking for head coaches. It’s obvious why. He has led the Kansas City Chiefs offense for the last few years as they have consistently shredded opposing defenses.

However, he has somehow not yet been hired as a head coach. It’s been a surprise every season that he has not gotten hired as a head coach, but maybe this will be the year.

He would be a great fit for the New Orleans Saints as they look to replace the offensive mind of Sean Payton. They are also an offense that could use some help right now. It was really the Saints defense that carried them at the end of this season and they are in a tough spot for next year.

Taysom Hill is currently in line to be their starting quarterback, Michael Thomas hasn’t suited up in nearly two years, and they are well over the cap limit. It’s not a great situation and they’ll need a talented offensive mind to make things work.

Eric Bieniemy just might be the right man for the job.
