Christen Miller is going viral for a good deed at a Louisiana grocery store.
A person’s actions while nobody is watching are often an illustration of one’s true character. Saints rookie Christen Miller is being applauded on social media for his humility and generosity thanks to a good deed for a new fan.
A woman in a Louisiana grocery store checkout line demonstrated kindness by letting him jump ahead. He returned the favor tenfold.
It re-affirmed to the shopper that there are good people in this world. His gesture made a lasting impact and is worthy of praise.
Who is Saints rookie Christen Miller?
Miller is a former college football star that spent four years at the University of Georgia. He won a national championship as a freshman reserve in 2022. His impact only grew in the years that followed.
The 320-pound lineman appeared in 39 contests across his last three seasons. He racked up 11.5 tackles for loss and four sacks between ’23 and ’25. He was the anchor of a defensive unit that ranked 10th in the nation in scoring last year.
Miller won three SEC titles in Athens. He was a first-team all-conference performer in his final season. He was able to buoy that success into a second-round NFL Draft grade.
The Saints selected the defensive tackle with the 42nd overall pick. He will now compete for snaps as a rookie.
Miller is just gearing up for his first pro training camp, but he’s already gaining new fans in the Bayou.
A kind act goes a long way.
Leslie Pedigo made a Facebook post of her interaction with Christen Miller at a Louisiana grocery store. She was previously unaware of his status as an NFL star.
Pedigo says she allowed Miller to jump the line at the register during the shopping visit. He had one item. She had a whole cart.
Miller paid for her groceries to say thank you.
Pedigo commended Miller for his “humility,” “generosity,” and “kindness.” The act didn’t go unnoticed.
“A complete stranger reminded me that there is so much good in this world.”
While not a football fan, Pedigo says she’ll be rooting hard for the Saints and Christen Miller this fall.
