The New York Giants have been busy reshaping their franchise. Last week they brought in a new GM and a new head coach. Today, they’ve made their latest addition to the organization. According to Mike Garafolo, they’re closing in on a new offensive coordinator today and the move proves they’re committed to developing Daniel Jones.

Every report we’ve heard since the end of the regular season has told us that the Giants want to stick with Jones. The owner even came out and admitted that the organization had “screwed up” Jones.

There might not be a better way to try and fix him than to surround him with the minds that have worked with two of the AFC’s top quarterbacks. That’s what the Giants have done this week. They’ve brought in Josh Allen’s offensive coordinator and are now trying to get Patrick Mahomes’ QB coach.

While it’s unlikely Jones is ever going to reach the heights of those two stars, the Giants are hoping he can at least get to a level that can make them a contender. His first few seasons have been a major disappointment, but he also hasn’t been given much to work with.

His O-line has been bad. His coaches have been disasters. His receiving corps has been subpar and often injured.

The past successes of the new coaching staff and whatever additions the New York Giants make to the roster this season should at least give Daniel Jones a chance to show if he’s the future of the organization
