New York Jets Star Sauce Gardner Says He Won’t Return To Las Vegas After Dangerous Magic Trick

New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner is one of the best cornerbacks in the entire NFL.

As such, Gardner’s hands are very, very valuable not only to him, but also to the New York Jets franchise.

But a magic trick that Gardner was a part of while in Las Vegas for the Pro Bowl could have put those hands in danger. Which is part of why he says he’s never returning to the Sin City.

Sauce Gardner Says He’s Not Going Back To Vegas After Card Trick

“I was in Vegas and long story short somebody did a card trick and I’m 1000000% that the cards were in my palms,” Gardner tweeted. At the end, he said ‘now it’s a block of glass; move your hand’ and a block of glass was in my hands instead of the cards. I’m not going back to Vegas.”

Now, it’s entirely possible, and maybe even likely, that Gardner says he’s not going back to Vegas because he was freaked out by the trick.

But let’s take a deeper dive into this.

Gardner was led to believe that he was holding a deck of cards. He was sure of it. But the trick seems to have used sleight of hand to instead put a block of glass in his hands.

What if he were to squeeze that block? Or move suddenly when he noticed the cards were gone?

It would have been very easy for things to turn very bad, very quickly. Gardner could have cut himself on the glass and potentially caused long-term damage to one of his most valuable assets.

Thankfully, that didn’t happen.

But Gardner still doesn’t seem very interested in trying things again.

Which may not be as big an issue after the NFL announced the Pro Bowl Games would return to Orlando in 2024.
