NFL Coaches/Execs Share Their Honest Opinions Of Aaron Rodgers-To-The-Jets

Earlier this week, the New York Jets reported to their summer training camp, which means the Aaron Rodgers era has truly begun.

While Jets fans are obviously hyped about the arrival of the future Hall of Famer, reactions to the Jets’ acquisition of the 39-year-old signal-caller is more of a mixed back when it comes to those within the league.

In a recent report from Heavy, while some NFL personnel hailed the Rodgers trade, others believe it won’t be enough to overcome the Jets’ infamously awful karma.

“Aaron Rodgers going to the Jets was by far the biggest move,” an AFC coach told Heavy. “And there’s not even a close second!”

“You take two rejects and replace them with a Hall of Famer,” an NFL offensive coordinator said. “Now, the Jets are instant Super Bowl contenders. It’s a tough conference, but New York is definitely in the mix.”

“You have to remember, it’s still the Jets,” an NFC scout proclaimed. “They’re going to suck. George Young used to say, ‘The f****** Jets always win the offseason, but when it comes to playing, they’ll always just be the f****** Jets.’”

Regardless of what the league’s various insiders think, the bookies in Las Vegas are expecting the Jets to be one of the best teams in the NFL, as they currently have the seventh-shortest odds to win Super Bowl LVIII.

At this time, with less than two months to go until the start of the 2023 NFL season, only the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills, and Cincinnati Bengals have better odds to lift the Lombardi Trophy than Gang Green.

Rodgers and the Jets will find out how they match up against the class of the AFC immediately as their first game of the season is a nationally-televised Monday Night Football matchup against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills on the 22nd anniversary of September 11.
