Connor Tegtmeyer needed Allen Robinson to gain exactly one additional yard for his NFL parlay to cash. The University of Illinois alumnus was one yard away from $50,000. One.

Oh, the joy of parlays!

Tegtmeyer, a Chicago-native, placed his bet on Monday night’s game between the Steelers and Raiders. It was a 14-leg parlay at +78268 odds, but he used a 30% profit boost to bump the odds up to +101809.

A $50 bet would have paid out $50,954.89.

His first 13 legs were as follow:

  • Pittsburgh Steelers +14.5
    • The Steelers won by five
  • Game point total: UNDER 49.5
    • Las Vegas and Pittsburgh combined for 41 points
  • Hunter Renfrow: OVER 16.5 receiving yards
    • Renfrow caught two passes for 17 yards
  • Jaylen Warren: OVER 22.5 receiving yards
    • Warren caught three passes for 29 yards
  • Jaylen Warren: OVER 25 rushing yards
    • Warren ran for 29 yards on eight carries
  • Kenny Pickett: OVER 200 passing yards
    • Pickett completed 16 passes for 235 yards
  • Pat Freiermuth: OVER 25 receiving yards
    • Freiermuth caught three passes for 41 yards
  • Josh Jacobs: OVER 60 rushing yards
    • Jacobs ran for 62 yards on 17 carries
  • George Pickens: OVER 50 receiving yards
    • Pickens caught four passes for 75 yards
  • Najee Harris: OVER 25 rushing yards
    • Harris ran for 65 yards on 19 carries
  • Davante Adams: OVER 80 receiving yards
    • Adams caught 13 passes for 172 yards
  • Davante Adams: ANYTIME touchdown scorer
    • Adams caught two touchdowns
  • Jakobi Meyers: OVER 50 receiving yards
    • Meyers caught seven passes for 85 yards

13 of the 14 legs were money. Only one was not.

  • Allen Robinson: OVER 25 receiving yards
    • Robinson caught four passes for……….. 24 (!!) yards.

The entire parlay crumbled down on top of Tegtmeyer because Robinson was one yard short. To make matters worse, a questionable spot late in the fourth quarter might have been the difference.

Robinson caught his fourth pass of the evening with just over two minutes left in the fourth quarter.

The spot was probably (?) correct, but there is definitely an argument to be made that he should have been marked at seven yards instead of six. Tegtmeyer certainly thinks so.

Y’all this #ARob25 situation is something we genuinely cannot let happen. Please help the average guy out!!!! He had 7 on that last catch with ease dont do this to loyal customers and users…. My recent posts and retweets of threads are indisputable truth he had 7!!!!!!!!!

In the end, Tegtmeyer was one yard away from turning $50 into $50,000. One yard.
