NFL quarterback Carson Wentz is facing significant backlash following his recent hunting expedition in Alaska, where he hunted and killed a black bear.

The former Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts, and Washington Commanders passer shared several images from his hunting experience on Instagram, revealing that he used a crossbow to take down the animal.

Wentz’s Instagram post, in which he referred to the black bear hunt as a “bucket list” item, sparked immediate outrage from social media users who criticized his decision to kill the bear for sport.

The 30-year-old athlete captioned the post, “Bucket list” with a checkmark emoji, followed by, “Got the opportunity to spot and stalk black bear in one of our new favorite places on earth—Alaska! Incredible trip and an incredible animal! 🙌🏻.”

Within minutes of the post going live, comments flooded in condemning Wentz for his actions and expressing disappointment in his choice to proudly display photographs of himself posing with the deceased animal.

The controversial pictures triggered a heated debate on his Instagram page, with users expressing their disapproval and questioning the motives behind trophy hunting.

One Instagram user commented, “That’s horrible. That animal was a beautiful living thing, and you killed it for what reason? And then you brag about it? People who take pleasure in stalking and killing, I’m not sure, but isn’t that a symptom of something?”

A user wrote, “Incredible animal, so you kill it? Makes sense.”

Another comment said, “That’s just awful! I can’t believe you killed a bear for sport. It has changed my whole perspective of you.”

Some individuals took a more drastic action and announced their intention to unfollow Wentz on social media due to their disapproval of his hunting activities.

This backlash raises questions about the potential impact on Wentz’s public image and the future of his career.

Recently, former Bears quarterback Jay Cutler also shared pictures of killing a Bear, in Montana.

It’s worth noting that Carson Wentz and his brother have an outdoors-focused YouTube channel called Wentz Bros Outdoors, where they regularly share videos of their hunting endeavors. However, this recent incident has cast a shadow over Wentz’s online presence and may lead to increased scrutiny of his activities.

Currently a free agent in the NFL, Wentz’s football career has faced numerous challenges in recent years, struggling to find success with multiple teams. It remains to be seen if another team gives him a chance in the league.
