Nick Saban’s #8 ranked Crimson Tide are hoping to pick up a quality win over #13 ranked LSU Tigers on Saturday. Prior to kickoff there will be a lot of questions asked by College Football fans who haven’t seen Nick Saban yet this week because they’ll be quite surprised to spot his grisly bloodshot eye.

Saban’s right eye looks like the type of injury one might sustain from lifting wights and popping a blood vessel. Coach Saban joked about it with Pat McAfee earlier this week to which Saban responded “I don’t know what happened to the eye. It doesn’t hurt. I’m totally baffled on what happened to the eye.”

After practice on Thursday, Nick Saban gave a more comprehensive answer about his bloodshot eye according to Bama’s 247Sports. On the Hey Coach radio show, Coach Saban explained:

“I go see Doc, comes to see me after practice today. He looks at me and he said, ‘You’ve been coughing?’ I said no. He said, ‘You know you can get this from yelling?’ He said, ‘You’ve got it from yelling. There’s nothing wrong with you. You just got it from yelling. You busted a blood vessel from yelling too much.'”

Continuing to talk about his bloodshot eye, Nick Saban joked “It looks like I’ve been in a gang fight and my gang didn’t show.”

So on Saturday when Alabama hosts Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers, and you see people scratching their heads wondering why it looks like Nick Saban’s right eyeball exploded, you can now go forth into the world and share the answer with them. Hootin’ and hollerin’.
