Nick Saban tried to limit his swearing during his final season at Alabama and it ended up costing him approximately $500. The money has since disappeared!

Caleb Downs and first round NFL Draft pick Terrion Arnold know exactly what happened to their former head coach’s cash but they are not going to tell.

College Gameday did a feature on Downs prior to Saturday’s game between Ohio State and Indiana. The five-star safety transferred to Columbus during the offseason after playing his freshman year in Tuscaloosa.

As soon as ESPN cut back to the desk, Saban told a hilarious story about his former defensive star. He joked that he cannot trust Downs because of the aforementioned money that has since vanished from existence.

The one thing about Caleb Downs… I don’t know if I can trust him!

In an effort to cut down on his cussing, the greatest head coach in college football history implemented a swear jar for his meetings. Every time Saban let one rip, he was required to pay $5 to the locker room. By the end of the season, the total swear count hovered around 100, which cost approximately $500.

Caleb Downs was assigned as the keeper of the jar. And now that Saban thinks about it, he does not know where the jar ended up. His $500 in swear money never made its way back to his pocket. The team never announced what it planned to do with the funds.

Well, the mystery has been solved! Downs and Arnold spent every last dollar.

Jen Lada got to the bottom of the missing swear jar but she was unable to uncover exactly where Nick Saban’s money went. Downs did not offer up that information. He and Arnold are taking that secret to the grave.

Maybe it went toward a bar tab at Galletes. Maybe it went toward a new speaker for the locker room. We will never know!
