Nick Saban has responded to a viral video of one of his players pushing a female fan’s head following the loss to Tennessee on Saturday.

Wide receiver Jermaine Burton made headlines this week after being taped shoving a fan as he made his way back to the Alabama locker room. Vols supporters stormed the field after their 52-49 victory over the Tide, the program’s first in 15 years.

While no punishments have been handed down at this point, the Alabama coaching staff is aware of the situation.

Nick Saban responded to the Jermaine Burton video on Tuesday, saying that the team is now looking into the matter.

The Alabama head coach released a statement on the incident earlier today.

“We are aware of the situation with Jermaine Burton as he was exiting the field Saturday. We are currently working to gather more information.”

Not much to go on, but it does seem that there will be some sort of reprimand for Burton. The wideout is one of the more explosive pass catchers on the Tide roster.

After transferring from Georgia last season, the receiver has tallied 18 catches for 266 yards and three scores at Alabama this year. The team is in the midst of SEC play, so should Saban decide to suspend Burton, it could be impactful.

Alabama is looking to recover from its first loss of the season, and they’ll have another tough task in Week 8. The Crimson Tide will face No. 24 Mississippi State in hopes of keeping their SEC championship aspirations alive.
