Eagles Coach Nick Sirianni Reportedly Couldn’t Control Emotions Without ‘Big Dom’ On The Sidelines

The Philadelphia Eagles were rolling through their first eleven games. They were 10-1, had the best record in the NFL.

But, things fell apart in a big way. The Eagles lost 6 of their last 7 games, including an embarrassing playoff loss to the Buccaneers.

Was the suspension of their head of security, Dom “Big Dom” DiSandro, following an incident in their Week 13 loss to the 49ers, the reason things went so poorly?

DiSandro was suspended from the sidelines for the remainder of the season following an incident with San Francisco linebacker Dre Greenlaw on the sideline of their loss to the 49ers.

After that, the team’s skid started. It was an abject disaster down the stretch for the Eagles, as they regressed significantly in every facet of the game.

Granted, the team was incredibly beat up, and the game plans and schemes clearly suffered. Philadelphia lost both coordinators from their NFC Champion 2022 team, and their replacements were both huge steps down. Neither one of them are currently with the team.

Still, for a team to go from 10-1, albeit winning a lot of close games, to one of the worst teams in the league overnight is pretty shocking. Their performance in a must-win Week 18 game against the Giants that resulted in a 27-10 loss was abysmal.

A local radio host in Philadelphia claims that part of the Eagles’ slide dealt with the fact that Dom DiSandro is the guy that helps control head coach Nick Sirianni’s emotions. With him off the sideline, things go ugly.

Yeah, maybe that had something to do with their slide. But, if Nick Sirianni needs another grown man near him so that he can control his emotions, that’s probably not a good thing.

That being said, DiSandro should be back on the sidelines next year, so we will see if he truly is the missing piece.
