Nike Had 3 Million Pre-Orders For Nigeria’s Awesome World Cup Kit And It Sold Out In Just 15 Minutes

The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicks off two weeks from today with host Russia taking on Saudi Arabia on 6/14 at 11am EST. Nigeria’s first match is on 6/16 against Croatia (3pm EST) but they’ve already made headlines before ever taking the pitch.

Nike had received an astounding THREE MILLION pre-orders for Nigeria’s awesome World Cup kit, and when it hit stores this morning worldwide the kit sold out in just 15 minutes with people standing in crazy long lines trying to get their hands on these jerseys at Nike stores in London.

The hype is real. These kits are incredible and Nike absolutely crushed it with this design. I have zero attachment to the Nigerian national team but I’d wear the shit out of this kit because it’s straight fire:

It’s hard to imagine what the hype must feel like for anyone whose team actually made the World Cup because the USMNT is sitting at home, watching the tournament on TV this year. But, just take a look at these lines in London of people trying to get into the Nike stores to buy this jersey and you’ll get a sense of how stoked the rest of the world is for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Also, shout out to the girl at 00:17 in this video who sees a camera and immediately tries to hide her face because she’s probably skipping out on work to get the Nigeria kit:
