The basketball season tips off tonight but it will be without Craig Sager, who is battling leukemia. But Sager, who is an NBA institution, will be in the hearts and minds of fans everywhere.
Nike partnered with the SagerStrong Foundation to create a customized, limited-edition “Sager Strong” sneaker. There will be 100 pairs of shoes, which were designed by Sager, available on an online auction.
The snazzy shoes feature paisley-print panels, a seersucker tongue tab, and multicolored laces.
The shoes honoring the iconic TNT sideline reporter who is fighting leukemia will be auctioned off starting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25.
The Golden State Warriors will be giving out a Craig Sager T-shirt to all fans in attendance for their season opener on Tuesday night against the San Antonio Spurs. The shirts are being presented by City National Bank, which will be making a donation to the SagerStrong Foundation.
