Nikola Jokić has seen his star shine brighter than ever before in the 2023 NBA Playoffs. The two-time MVP has been absolutely dominant in the postseason, leading the Denver Nuggets to the first trip to the NBA Finals.
The star big man is averaging 29.9 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 10.3 assists per game in the playoffs as the Nuggets have been by far the best team in the league in the postseason. They showed that with their sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers, where they dominated in crunch time, as well as blowing out the Phoenix Suns in games 5 and 6
It’s a weird situation for Nikola Jokić and his teammates, as their win in game 4 over the Lakers on Monday, coupled with the Boston Celtics rallying from three games down to tie the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals, means that they will have nine days off between games when the NBA Finals kick off on Thursday, June 1.
So, is the center watching that series intently to see who he and his Nuggets teammates will play in the NBA Finals next week? That would be a no.
Nikola Jokic on Heat-Celtics: “I didn’t watch Game 5. I was walking with my daughter. I’m lying. I watched the first quarter.”
