Despite reports that the Jets are likely to sign free-agent QB Derek Carr, no deal is imminent between the two parties.

Multiple teams have expressed interest in the veteran quarterback, including the Saints, who have reportedly made an offer for his services.

Meanwhile, the Jets continue to explore all their options at the QB position. While Packers Aaron Rodgers (under the right circumstances) is the team’s preferred choice, they have yet to make a move for him.

They have reportedly looked into free-agent Carr, Titans Ryan Tannehill, 49ers Jimmy Garoppolo, Seahawks Geno Smith and even Giants Daniel Jones.

Asking Price

Derek Carr seeks a contract worth $35+ million per year, according to ESPN reporter Dianna Russini.

“He doesn’t need to be the first quarterback to sign.”

That’s a relatively very fair contract for a veteran.

Next For Carr

At this time, Derek Carr will visit more teams and review his options before a decision is made according to Breer.

Three other NFL teams have recently called and contacted Carr, per ESPN.

It is uncertain if the Jets will make a move for him, but with their need for a reliable signal caller, they could be swayed to make a move.
