The University of North Carolina is reportedly facing backlash from supporters of the football team over the hiring of Bill Belichick. They are reportedly upset over the situation involving the school’s new head football coach and his 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson.

There has much discussion and rampant speculation about how Bill Belichick’s relationship with Jordon Hudson is and will be affecting his ability to perform at the level UNC football fans expected when he was hired late last year. The signs that Hudson might be a factor in the situation were there even before Belichick took the job when she followed the school, its football team and the football’s nutrition department on Instagram in December.

Now, after a plethora of strange events, some more troubling than others, The Athletic reports that some North Carolina fans are expressing great dissatisfaction with the coach.

“I am a longtime UNC fan and cannot believe you are stuck with a coach who is clearly being run by a woman who is young enough to be his granddaughter dominating football practice and interviews,” one longtime supporter wrote to the president of the University of North Carolina, according to emails obtained by The Athletic. “It’s ridiculous, won’t end well, and makes UNC look foolish.”

Also of note in the report is the fact that Jordon Hudson has formed numerous corporations since December 2023. Roosevelt Beauty and Roosevelt Glam, named using one of her middle names (Jordon Isabella Roosevelt Hudson), are related to cosmetics, hygiene products and event styling. She has also created corporations that deal in real estate oversight, book and movie production, trademark and copyright management, information technology solutions, business operations, and merchandising. At least four of thosee companies are directly affiliated with Bill Belichick: Chapel Bill LLC, All BB Team LLC, Coach Show LLC, and BB’s Version LLC.

“It’s about Jordon Hudson, the book. It’s about Jordon Hudson, the movie. It’s about Jordon Hudson, the brand,” Jordon Hudson’s former boss Dougie Freeman, a celebrity hairstylist and owner of West End Salon & Spa in Provincetown, told The Athletic.

The buyout for Bill Belichick’s contract with North Carolina dropped to $1 million on June 1. The Tar Heels kick off their football season on Sept. 1. If The Hoodie can bring a similar kind of success he achieved in New England, none of this will matter to UNC fans. If he doesn’t, then the “Jordon Hudson problem” might end up being too much for him to overcome.
