North Carolina’s basketball season ended in disappointing fashion this year.

They finished the ACC regular season in 7th place in the conference.

They were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament.

The Tar Heels weren’t selected for the NCAA Tournament just a year after making a run to the final.

Worst of all, they turned down their invitation to the NIT, bringing a premature end to their season.

Despite the way their season played out, it looks like one of their players is generating a whole lot of interest in the transfer portal.

According to 24/7 High School Hoops, Kentucky, Indiana, Arizona, TCU, West Virginia, LSU and a number of other schools have reached out to Puff Johnson since he decided to leave North Carolina.

Johnson hasn’t had a huge impact for the Tar Heels since joining the program. He has spent the last 3 years coming off of the bench for North Carolina and has never averaged more than 16 minutes per game.

However, Johnson was a 4-star recruit when he decided to head to UNC and is coming off of the best season of his college career.

This year, Johnson averaged 4.1 points and 2.7 rebounds for the Tar Heels, setting career highs in both categories.

Despite his lack of playing time the last few years, there will be plenty of teams looking to bring the forward in because of the expectations when he was recruited and what they actually have seen from him in his limited minutes.

With that list of teams already calling, he could end up seeing a lot more playing time with a different Power 5 school.
