North Crowley rolled into Duncanville for one of the biggest high school football games of the season on Friday. Not just in Texas— in the entire country.
Things got chippy before kickoff but the fans had seen enough before the end of the fourth quarter.
A raucous high school football crowd cleared out in a hurry once the score got out of hand. It is an unusual sight for the Panthers.
North Crowley and Duncanville got chippy during pregame.
It is rare that Duncanville High School is an underdog at home. That was the case on Friday. North Crowley rolled into town ranked No. 2 in the state and No. 20 in the country. You could cut the tension with a knife.
Players from both teams met at midfield. There was a lot of jarring and pointing back and forth. Coaches and officials had to separate the two powerhouse programs. Fortunately, no punches were thrown.

However, the hostility continued into the game. There were two personal foul penalties in the first nine minutes!
Both teams traded blows during the first half but the visitors started to pull away. North Crowley held a 41-28 lead with 11:02 left in the fourth quarter. Duncanville snuffed out a fake punt to set up great field position.

And then Duncanville threw a pick.

North Crowley scored a touchdown not too long thereafter to extend its lead to 17 points with just over seven minutes remaining.
The high school football game cleared out in a hurry.
North Crowley finished the game with 293 yards rushing, which was more than Duncanville’s 282 total yards of offense. North Texas commit G’Yrell Smith ran four three touchdowns on his first four carries of the game. His backfieldmate, Kiante Ingram, added two scores of his own.
It was a dominant win. North Crowley moved to 4-0. Duncanville dropped to 1-3. The season is all-but over for the latter.
Fans knew it. They officially gave up on their team after the fourth-quarter interception led to points on the other end.
That is an unusual sight for Texas high school football. The crowd was empty before the clock hit zero.
