On Wednesday evening, Northwestern basketball played host to No. 5 Purdue and nearly hung around long enough to pull the upset. However, despite going on to lose by six points, one Wildcats fan named Jack was able to leave the game with a big smile on his face.

Midway through the second half, Jack was selected out of the stands to attempt a half-court shot. It is unclear as to what he would get if he was to make it, but it was presumably free textbooks for a year, or some sort of tuition-based prize. Either that, or a year’s supply of chicken tenders type deal.

Regardless of what it was that he won, Jack sunk it. Welsh-Ryan Arena went absolutely bonkers when the shot rattled once around the rim and went in.

To celebrate his monumental shot, Jack proceeded to hit the Griddy all over the court. Even the in-arena announcer and the Northwestern mascot joined in and it was electric.

Although his form may not have been perfect, the energy was there and the effort cannot go understated. In response, Allen Davis, who created the dance, wants to get on Fox Sports’ college basketball show. He loved Jack’s celebration as much as anyone.

The Griddy is taking over the world and it has made its way to the private, oldest-chartered university in Illinois that is ranked among the most prestigious academic institutions in the world. You simply love to see it.
