Oklahoma fans purchased a lot of cheap tickets to the college football game at Michigan Stadium on Saturday. Sooners fans did not hold the majority at the Big House but they certainly made their presence felt.
There was a large amount of crimson in the crowd!
If you did not know this was a college football home game for the Wolverines, you might think it was played at a neutral site. Oklahoma travels.
Michigan fans sold their college football tickets for cheap.
Saturday’s game between the Sooners and the Wolverines was supposed to be one of the biggest games of the year. Both teams were considered legitimate College Football Playoff contenders during the preseason. They were both ranked inside the Top 25.
The get-in price for the SEC-Big Ten matchup in Week 2 at Michigan Stadium hovered around $350-400 for most of the summer. It dropped closer to $200 before the first game of the season.
And then Michigan barely escaped with a win over Western Michigan in Week 1. Ticket prices plummeted by more than $100 week-over-week, down almost 90% from July.
Wolverines fans gave up on their team after they needed two Hail Marys and some clock fudgery to beat the Broncos last weekend. They sold their tickets in a fit of rage.
The get-in price for Oklahoma-Michigan dropped to $43 with just three hours until kickoff. There were a lot of tickets available for $50 or less.
Sooners fans jumped all over the cheap tickets. It was impressive.

Others planted their flag in Ann Arbor.
There was just as much crimson in the concourse of Michigan Stadium during warmups as there was maize.
It quickly became clear that the crowd would be split closer to 60-40.
Oklahoma fans were in their seats early.
They just kept coming.
Only the student section was void of visitors.
It was an incredible showing from the Sooners.
You could even call it a takeover.

Although Michigan fans held the slight majority at kickoff, it was closer to a neutral site game than a sellout home game.
