Ole Miss Superstar RB Quinshon Judkins Makes Shock Decision To Leave Program In Transfer Portal

Perhaps the best running back in all of college football shocked the world on Thursday afternoon.

Ole Miss superstar Quinshon Judkins will finish his college career elsewhere after entering the transfer portal.

In his two seasons in Oxford, Judkins rushed for 2,725 yards and 31 touchdowns in addition to 37 receptions for 281 yards and a further three scores.

Matt Zenitz of 247Sports first broke the news.

Judkins was named second-team All-SEC by the AP in 2023 after landing on the first team as a freshman. He’ll undoubtedly be one of, if not the hottest commodity in the portal.

While he didn’t reveal why he’s transferring, Judkins will likely fetch a pretty penny on the open market. And Walker Jones, an NIL collective director for Ole Miss, retweeted an Ole Miss media member who wrote “do not overpay for a RB.”

So you can draw your own conclusions there.

Ole Miss recently landed a commitment from Walter Nolen, the top-ranked player in the transfer portal according to 247Sports.

The Rebels have also added pass rushers Princely Umanmielen from Florida and Tyler Baron from Tennessee. So it’s not like the program is exactly struggling for cash when it comes to NIL dollars.

Though it’s clear they didn’t think there was value in dropping a bag on Judkins.

Only time will tell whether that looks a good decision.

But many believe Ole Miss could open the 2024 season ranked in the preseason top-five. Will losing Judkins change that? Or will Lane Kiffin and company find a capable replacement.

Either way, they just watched a lot of production walk out the door. And he could well walk his way into the building of another SEC program.

Or, could one Deion Sanders and Colorado enter the fray? Regardless of where he ends up, Judkins is sure to have plenty of suitors.
