USWNT legends Abby Wambach and Julie Foudy were seriously impressed by Olivia Miles' soccer highlights
Minnesota Lynx point guard Olivia Miles is having a breakout rookie season in the WNBA, as she’s instantly established herself as one of the league’s best players. It turns out she probably could have been a soccer star, too.
During a recent appearance on the Welcome to the Party podcast, Abby Wambach and Julie Foudy surprised Minnesota Lynx rookie Olivia Miles with highlights of her high school soccer career.

While the seemingly shy Miles looked a bit embarrassed, Wambach and Foudy were generally mindblown by Miles’ skill, with Wambach adding that Miles was able to do something she never did during her storied career: chip the keeper.
That praise from Wambach is especially remarkable, given that she’s the highest-scoring player in the history of the United States Women’s National Team, with 184 career goals.
The clip shows Miles chip the goalkeeper, bend free kicks, and cut through defenses with the ease of someone who was clearly the best player on the pitch. Based on Wambach and Foudy’s reactions, Miles seems to have the talent to take her soccer career much further if she wants to.

During her first season in the WNBA, Miles — who was drafted out of TCU with the second overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft — is averaging 19.7 points, 6.2 assists, and 4.6 rebounds per game, and has helped lead the Lynz to the best record in the WNBA with about a month left to play in the regular season.
