Omari Abor did it again. The redshirt senior defensive end at Akron criticized his entire coaching staff and his teammates during a scathing video on TikTok.
He claims it was a “joke” and asks that you do not take “ts too serious please.”
Even if that is true, Abor has a history of this kind of behavior, which makes it difficult to give him the benefit of the doubt. And it seems like he is going enter the college football transfer portal for the fourth time after this season.
Who is Omari Abor?
Omari Abor was ranked as a former four-star prospect in the college football recruiting Class of 2022. The Texas-native committed to the Ohio State out of Duncanville High School. He chose the Buckeyes over 26 other offers from schools like Alabama, LSU, Michigan, Florida, Georgia, USC, Texas and Oklahoma State. Any school in the country would’ve been thrilled to have him.
Unfortunately, the highly-touted edge rusher never quite figured it out on the next level. Abor took a redshirt as a freshman because he did not crack the depth chart and recorded only three tackles as a sophomore in 2023.
It was not too long thereafter that Abor hit the transfer portal for the first time. The Dallas-native returned home to play for SMU.
His decision proved costly, literally.
Abor recorded only two tackles for the Mustangs in 2024 and his paycheck was not quite what he had expected. In a TikTok video that has since been deleted, he called his decision to leave Ohio State “the worst decision of his entire life” and told the people who encouraged him to leave Columbus for more money to “S” his “D.” Except he didn’t say “S” or “D.” Not great!
Abor re-entered the transfer portal after his redshirt sophomore season. 247 Sports says that he committed to CSU-Pueblo in June of 2025 but there is no record that he ever enrolled at the university or took a snap for the Division II program. As far as I can tell, he did not play college football in 2025 because of an injury. He entered the transfer portal for a third time in December.
What did the college football player say about Akron on TikTok?
The University of Akron announced the signing of Omari Abor on May 8. It came out of nowhere.
Abor has only played in four games this season due to an injury. He recorded eight total tackles and two forced fumbles against Wake Forest, Robert Morris, Minnesota and Kent State.
The Zips dropped to 1-8 with their seventh-straight loss on Tuesday night. They have struggled on both sides of the ball. A lot of the blame falls on the coaching staff. Akron is bad and it would not be fair to hold only one specific group responsible.
Abor refuses to do so! He posted the following video on TikTok, which took aim at everybody:

Abor also liked the following comments:
- “Typa shi you post when you know you finna hit the portal”
- “Oh this his last year he dgaf”
- “That’s what happens when you leave Ohio State”
However, Abor followed up to say that he was just making a joke.
“My last post is ALLLL JOKES don’t take ts too serious please 😂😂😂<<<“
Make of his post(s) what you will. I don’t know whether Abor has any eligibility remaining after this season but he might be able to return for a sixth season if he is granted a medical hardship waiver. Needless to say, he will not be returning to Akron.
