Oral Roberts’ 6’8″, 280lb Senior Was On A Warpath After Brawl Broke Out With NDSU Over Petty Late Fouls

WDAY ABC 6

Thursday night’s basketball game between Oral Roberts and North Dakota State was not particularly competitive. Despite the score, the game ended in fireworks anyway.

After the Bison went up by 16 points with less than a minute left, the Golden Eagles fouled. 32 seconds later, down by 19, Oral Roberts fouled again.

Neither foul was necessary and they were both as petty as can be. Clearly, that upset both the North Dakota staff and their players.

In the closing seconds, when both teams would normally agree to call off the dogs, the Golden Eagles continued to push. In turn, so did the Bison.

After forcing a steal, North Dakota State closed out the game with a vicious dunk after the buzzer that didn’t count. Both teams went over to shake hands and the lines got chippy in a hurry.

The coaching staffs for both teams started the conflict by exchanging words with one another. And then the players got involved.

From there, both benches cleared and the players started pushing, shoving, chirping and swinging at one another. Things got extremely heated and the tension boiled over into an all-out skirmish.

Before the players were separated, 6-foot-6, 280-pound redshirt senior Elijah Lufile broke loose from his teammates, opposing teammates and coaches who were trying to hold him back and charged toward the Bison. He was on a warpath.

Things eventually calmed down and Lufile got up with blood coming from his mouth.

It was one of the more intense brawls of the season and in recent years, take a look:
