The Packers Might See 66-Year Sellout Streak Come To An End Against The Falcons Amid Worrying Price Trend

The Packers have been playing their home games at Lambeau Field since 1957, and it’s been 66 years since that venue hosted a contest that didn’t boast a sold-out crowd.  However, that streak could come to an end if something doesn’t change ahead of their showdown with the Falcons.

The Packers have a history stretching back to 1919, and the franchise played games at seven different stadiums in the state of Wisconsin over the first few decades of its existence before moving into Lambeau Field in 1957.

That historic venue is the second-oldest stadium in the NFL (and will become the oldest when the Bears abandon Soldier Field), and it’s easily one of the most unique when you consider it’s located in the middle of a residential neighborhood in Green Bay.

That relatively quiet area gets significantly busier on game day due to the influx of fans, including the approximately 38,000 people with one of the coveted season tickets that have spawned a waitlist that boasts around 150,000 people, some of whom aren’t projected to get the chance to purchase a package for more than 50 years.

They comprise around half of the capacity of a stadium that can officially hold 81,441. The recorded attendance has never hit that number, but the team claims it has managed to sell out every single regular season game that’s played there since 1960 on page 603 of the 2026 media guide (with the exception of the replacement games during the 1987 season).

However, the streak may be in jeopardy.

There’s no real way to verify the fact that the Packers have actually sold every ticket they’ve put up for grabs at Lambeau Field in the past 66 years, and it does seem like the streak may boil down to some opaque accounting practices that have helped keep it alive.

There’s no telling if it will continue when Green Bay hosts the Falcons for a Thursday Night Football matchup, but there’s evidence that strongly suggests that could end up being the case.

On Thursday morning, Keith Pagello, the founder of TicketData, noted there were still around 700 seats listed on Ticketmaster less than 12 hours before kickoff. Most of them were in the last couple of rows of the highest level of the venue, with the cheapest priced at $227.

There is a real chance the Green Bay Packers 66-year sellout streak ends tonight.

However, as of this writing, the get-in price on the secondary market is hovering around $130, so it’s hard to imagine anyone would fork over nearly $100 for the privilege of posting up in one of the worst seats in the house.

As Pagello notes, there’s a chance the Packers slash the prices or strongly encourage a corporate partner to purchase some in bulk, but it’ll be very interesting to see if the streak is still intact on Friday morning.
