It appears that Packers GM Brian Gutekunst has removed the gloves with Aaron Rodgers.

Two weeks ago, Rodgers went on the Pat McAfee show and ripped the team for how they’ve handled his situation this offseason.

According to Rodgers, he felt the team was trying to move him while he was on his “darkness retreat.”

“When I came out of the darkness, something changed,”I got back to my phone after five days…I realized there had been a little bit of a shift. I heard from multiple people around the league that I trust that there was some shopping going on. They were interested in moving me.”

Rodgers went on to tell McAfee of his intention to play for the Jets but blamed the Packers for holding up the deal over compensation.

“This is not a decision here. This decision, I think, was made in my mind whether or not I was able to commit at that point really on that Tuesday that I wanted to play. So, at this point, as I sit here, since Friday, I made it clear my intention was to play and my intention was to play for the New York Jets. I haven’t been holding anything up at this point. it’s been compensation that the Packers are trying to get for me.”

When asked about Rodgers at the owners meetings on Monday, Gutekunst fired a shot at Rodgers.

Gutekunst also said he hasn’t been able to reach Rodgers this offseason which led to the team deciding to part ways with him.
