The San Diego Padres finally made a big signing after whiffing on Aaron Judge and Trea Turner. They bring in Xander Bogaerts on a massive new contract.

Meanwhile, Boston Red Sox fans don’t seem too happy with the news. For the most part, the fanbase is upset with the front office for how it’s handled the roster.

According to Jeff Passan, the Padres reel in Xander Bogaerts with an 11-year $280 million contract. Additionally, there is a full no-trade clause in the deal as well. So, it looks like San Diego lands its superstar signing after all.

However, Red Sox fans are fuming over this situation. Not so much because of the contract size, but because it’s another big-name player the front office let walk. With the Padres securing Xander Bogaerts for the long haul, Boston fans can’t help but be upset watching him go.

Red Sox fans still aren’t over Mookie Betts leaving.

Make it make sense.

We’ll see how it plays out for the Red Sox as it’s a bold move to let another superstar leave in free agency. Meanwhile, the Padres have another big bat and must figure out what positions guys are going to play. Which is a good problem to have.
