Ever golfer can benefit from a lesson no matter how good they are. Case in point, Tiger Woods has famously worked with swing coaches Butch Harmon, Hank Haney, and two others over the years. Pros can often work out what they’re doing wrong but they, like everyone else, still benefit from the watchful eyes of a coach.

U.S. Open champ Bryson DeChambeau donned his ‘golf instructor’ cap for a day with Paige Spiranac who herself is a former pro golfer and current scratch golfer. They teased the video recently with clips of them in the course and Bryson just uploaded it to his YouTube channel this week.

In the lesson, Bryson DeChambeau helps Paige Spiranac work out her alignment issues and on a fix to stop her from duck hooking the ball. Also, he starts the video by pronouncing her name correctly which is something that 90% of the golf world seems incapable of doing. Her last name is pronounced ‘spur-ann-ick’ and not ‘spear-ih-nack’ as many pronounce it. Here’s Bryson passing his knowledge along:

As it turns out, there were 2 videos. On this one uploaded to Paige Spiranac‘s channel instead of Bryson’s, he caddies for her at Albany and teachers her to hit a few new shots:

Side note: I’ve been meaning to try this drill on the range.

The fact that Bryson DeChambeau appears to be an incredible swing coach should come as no surprise to anybody that’s been paying attention. For starters, he’s spent as much time on the range and course as anyone. He played collegiate golf at SMU before going pro and is a major champion and worked with Mike Schy of the Golf Performance Institute on his own swing so he knows all about formal instruction.

But Bryson Dechambeau is also opening an UnderPar Life facility in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area where he’s seeking to make golf more accessible to everybody. At the heart of that is providing the best possible golf instruction and it’s evident that Bryson, a golfer I used to despise but only later realized it was because of his stupid hats that he’s since abandoned, has a true knack for golf instruction.

He was able to quickly identify alignment issues in Paige Spiranac’s golf swing and sort it out. Well done.
