Is there a bigger star in the world of golf right now than Paige Spiranac?

Sure, there’s Tiger Woods and Brooks Koepka and Rory McIlroy. But none of them even begin to touch the presence that Spiranac had on social media.

The former college golfer turned influencer has over 3.7 million followers on her Instagram page.

And it’s easy to see why.

In her latest viral post, Spiranac took to the course in an eye-catching all-white outfit to invite her followers to play a hole with her.

Spiranac’s video is from the Par 5, 18th hole at Alpine Country Club in New Jersey. She played the mammoth, 560-yard hole in five shots, only just missing a birdie putt on the low side.

So why did such a talented golfer not pursue a pro career? Well, she attributes the decision to burn out following a lengthy amateur career growing up.

“So many growing pains,” she revealed on her Playing A Round With Paige podcast. “I was burnt out of, I wouldn’t say golf, just dedicating my life to something and not really seeing the results. With gymnastics, it was hard because I was fighting injuries and then with golf — golf is such an interesting sport because you can work out, eat right, practice and still not achieve your goals. That was something for me that I just couldn’t wrap my head around.

“It also went against everything that my parents ever told me because I come from two athletes. They always said, ‘If you put the work in and you dedicate your life to something, you will be successful.’ But that just wasn’t happening with golf and I was driving myself crazy because I felt like I should be achieving at a much higher level. … I had everything to be a world class golfer, but I just couldn’t put it together and I didn’t know why. It was driving me actually insane.”

But Spiranac’s choice has paid off. She’s still a massive star and gets to continue a career in the world of golf. Oh, and her followers probably appreciate the decision as well. Talk about a win-win.
