Despite dating one of the most famous women in the world, Travis Kelce “is still Travis Kelce”, according to his teammate and quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Speaking to the media in the lead-up to the AFC Championship game, Mahomes was asked if Kelce’s newfound fame has changed him at all, to which Mahomes responded that he’s the same guy he’s always been.
“He’s still Travis Kelce. He still will walk through the stadium and treat every single person like they’re his best friend. And he’s going to be like that in the locker room every single day,” Mahomes said. “He has all that attention but he’s just been himself the whole time. Travis has always been Travis.”
During their most recent game, a 27-24 win over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Divisional round, Mahomes and Kelce set the record for most touchdowns by a quarterback-tight end duo in the postseason at 16.
This weekend, Mahomes, Kelce, and the rest of the Kansas City Chiefs will be appearing in their sixth straight AFC Championship, where they’ll be taking on the #1 seed Baltimore Ravens for the right to go to the Super Bowl and defend their title.
If the Chiefs do win the Super Bowl this year, they’ll. become the first NFL team to repeat as champions since the Patriots did it in 2003 and 2004.
Heading into the AFC Championship game, Lamar Jackson and the Ravens are favored over the Chiefs by three points.
